Cyracure

Materials. The radical-type photopolymerizable formulation consisted of a mixture of hexanediol diacrylate (HDDA from UCB) and a polyurethane-diacrylate (Actilane 20 from Arkros). A bis-acylphosphine oxide (BAPO from Ciba) was used as photoinitiator at a typical concentration of 1 wt %. The cationic type photopolymerizable resin consisted of a mixture of the divinylether of triethyleneglycol (RapiCure DVE-3 from ISP) and a divinylether derivative of bis-phenol A (DVE-BPA). The cationic photoinitiator (Cyracure UVI-6990 from Union Carbide) had a composition of 50 wt % of mixed triarylsulfonium hexafluorophosphate salts and 50 wt % of propylene carbonate. The BAPO initiator... [Pg.64]

A more flexible UV-cured polymer showing improved adhesion was obtained by using the bis (3,4 epoxy cyclohexyl) adipate (Cyracure UVR-6128 from Dow Chemicals) [61,62]. The superior adhesion achieved with such cationically UV-cured epoxides was attributed to the low shrinkage that occurs during the ring... [Pg.316]

The Photo-Differential Scanning Calorimetry (photo-DSC) [10] was used to study the cure kinetics of UV-initiated photo-polymerization of epoxy resin monomers and vinyl ether in presence of cationic photo-initiator, mainly Cyracure UVI-6976, former Cyracure UVI-6974, which consists of a mixture of dihexafluoroantimonate of S, S, S, S -tetraphenylthiobis (4,1-phenyllene) disulfonium and hexafluoroantimonate of diphenyl (4-phenylthiophenyl) sulfonium (CAS no. 89452-32-9 and 71449-78-0) at 50 wt. % in propylene carbonate - Figure 44 [11]. [Pg.241]

Photocuring kinetic of UV-initiated cationic photo-pol5rmerization of divinyl ether shows a very low activation energy comparing to the two epoxies studied above. The Epiclon HP-7200/ Rapi-Cure DVE-3 system has been optimized by Differential Photo Calorimetry (DPC) in presence of cationic photoinitiator Cyracure UVI-6976. [Pg.242]

With difunctional cycloepoxides, the chain reaction develops in three dimensions to form a tightly cross-linked polymer. The rate of polymerization of the widely used aliphatic dicycloepoxide (Cyracure 6105 from Dow Chemicals) is still one order of magnirnde lower than that of diacrylate monomers, most probably because of a lower propagation rate constant. In this respect, the remarkable performance of cycloaliphatic epoxy-silicones should be mentioned, as these monomers were shown to polymerize... [Pg.227]
