Cylinder coffin

When the nature of the leaking gas or the size of the leak constitutes a more serious hazard, a self-contained breathing apparatus and protective apparel may be required, and personnel may need to be evacuated (see Chapter 5, section 5.C.2). Cylinders leaking toxic gases always require protective equipment and evacuation of personnel. Cylinder coffins are also available to encapsulate leaking cylinders. (See Chapte 5, section 5.G, for more information.)... [Pg.126]

If it is necessary to contain the leak immediately on site, the eylinder may be placed inside a special larger cylinder coffin specially designed for this t5 e of situation. This coffin may then be moved to a loeation where it can be coimected to a scrubber and safely vented. This type of operation should only be performed by an emergency response team trained in using this t) e of equipment. [Pg.490]

For almost cubic and nearly spherical crystals, the above solution for diffusion-controlled uptake by a sphere can be used. For "coffin"-shaped crystals, the corresponding solution for diffiision in a cylinder was used. [Pg.154]
