Cycloalkane 1-hydroxy

Iodine-Mercury(II) oxide, 149 a-METHYLENE ALDEHYDES AND KETONES 1,4-Diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane, 92 Dimethyl sulfoxide, 124 Formaldehyde, 136 Methoxyallene, 177 Methylene cycloalkanes By cyclization reactions Diacetatobis(triphenylphos-phine)palladium(II), 91 l-Hydroxy-3-trimethylsilylmethyl-3-butene, 147... [Pg.395]

Gasoline hydrocarbons volatilized to the atmosphere quickly undergo photochemical oxidation. The hydrocarbons are oxidized by reaction with molecular oxygen (which attacks the ring structure of aromatics), ozone (which reacts rapidly with alkenes but slowly with aromatics), and hydroxyl and nitrate radicals (which initiate side-chain oxidation reactions) (Stephens 1973). Alkanes, isoalkanes, and cycloalkanes have half-lives on the order of 1-10 days, whereas alkenes, cycloalkenes, and substituted benzenes have half- lives of less than 1 day (EPA 1979a). Photochemical oxidation products include aldehydes, hydroxy compounds, nitro compounds, and peroxyacyl nitrates (Cupitt 1980 EPA 1979a Stephens 1973). [Pg.107]

Since the preceding study had revealed a cycloalkane moiety to be disadvantageous as a lateral system, in the following the aromatic phthalimide skeleton was kept the same whilst one carbonyl functional was replaced with hydrogens (7), as well as hydroxy (8) and alkoxy groups... [Pg.83]

Cycloalkan reduziert s.ds. Handb. V/1 a, S. 20ff., 281 ff. [Pg.654]

Vicinal diols undergo oxidative cleavage. There is no apparent steric limitation as both cis- and fra s-cycloalkane-l,2-diols are susceptible to cleavage. However, under certain conditions a-hydroxy ketones may be oxidized without breaking the C-C bond. ... [Pg.81]

We will turn our attention toward the synthesis of macrocyclic lactones, macrocyclic lactams, cyclopeptides, and macrocarbocycles, which are abundant in nature. Retrosynthetic cleavage of the lactone function, lactam function, and cycloalkanes provides an co-hydroxy-acid, an oo-amino-acid, and an open-chain hydrocarbon deriv-... [Pg.832]
