According to our study on the alkylphosphonates lA-IK series, in the structure lo, both R and R groups in the structural unit of phosphoras-containing played a very important role in both herbicidal activity and inhibition against plant PDHc El. We noticed that a variety of studies had demonstrated that bioactivity and stability of phosphonates or phosphates could be increased by introducing a phosphorus-containing heterocyclic moiety to their parent structure [22, 23]. [Pg.221]

In this chapter, we focus on the synthesis, herbicidal activity, and stmcture-activity relationship of cyclic phosphonates IVA-IVF, and caged bicyclic phosphates IVG-IVH.
