Cyclic-IMP

This enzyme [EC 3.1.4.17] catalyzes the hydrolysis of a nucleoside 3, 5 -cyclic phosphate to produce a nucleoside 5 -phosphate. The enzyme can utilize 3, 5 -cyclic AMP, 3, 5 -cyclic dAMP, 3, 5 -cyclic IMP, 3, 5 -cyclic GMP, and 3, 5 -cyclic CMP as substrates. [Pg.179]

Capillary electrophoresis, a powerful high-efficiency high-resolution analytical technique, was used for the separation and characterization of cyclic-AMP, cyclic-GMP, and cyclic-IMP. Reproducibility, linear-ity, and spectral analysis were tested. The results shows that capillary electrophoresis is a reliable technique used to resolve and quantitate sub-picomole amounts of a mixture of cyclic nucleotides. [Pg.50]

In weaidy acidic equilibrium systems of 62 and 5 -IMP (21C) or 5 -ITP (21D), two cyclic, presumably trimeric oligomers with respectively N(l) N(7),0(6) (67) and N(l) N(7), O (H2O) (68) binding patterns of adjacently placed nucleobases were present in an approximately 1 1 ratio. The phosphate coordination was absent in the case of this Ir species in the presence of purine nucleoside 5 -triphosphate (2000ICA115). [Pg.150]

Reagents. Cyclic nucleotides (3, 5 -cyclic adenosine monophosphate (c-AMP), 3, 5 -cyclic guanosine monophosphate (c-GMP), and 3, 5 -cyclic inosine monophosphate (c-IMP)) sodium tetraborate hydrochloric acid and potassium hydroxide were purchased from Sigma Chemical Company, St. Louis, Missouri). Millex disposable filter units (0.22 pm) were obtained from Millipore Corporation (Bedford, Massachusetts). Triply distilled and deionized water was used for the preparation of buffer solutions. Both buffers and samples were routinely degassed with helium after filtration (using microfilter units). [Pg.52]

Current-potential measurements, in the dark and under illumination of the semiconductor working electrode, are extremely useful for first defining the charge-transfer behavior across the interface before more sophisticated experiments are undertaken. The irradiation can be either continuous or intermittent (chopped) the latter mode has the distinct advantage that both the dark and light behavior can be examined in the same scan [55, 58]. Even some dynamic information can thus be extracted under the nominally steady-state conditions typical of a cyclic or linear potential sweep experiment. Another useful steady-state experiment is photocurrent spectroscopy (performed at a fixed DC potential) [55], although this can also be dynamically performed via IMPS (see below). Such measurements not only yield the so-called photoaction spectrum of the semiconductor electrode, but also afford information on surface recombination and surface state activity at the interface as discussed below. [Pg.2669]

Adenylosuccinate formed by adenylosuccinate synthetase is cleaved by adenylosuccinate lyase to form AMP. The reaction steps are illustrated in Fig. 1. Included in the sequence is the additional reaction catalyzed by AMP deaminase. These three enzymes have been suggested to function in a cyclic process termed the purine nucleotide cycle 7,8). The two-step conversion of IMP to AMP is very similar to both the conversion of citrulline to arginine, which involves formation of argininosuccinate as an intermediate, and formation of 5-amino-imidazole 4-carboxamide ribonucleotide from 5-aminoimidazole 4-carboxylate ribonucleotide as part of IMP biosynthesis. Adenylosuccinate lyase is a dual function enzyme catalyzing the cleavage of both adenylosuccinate and 5-aminoimidazole 4-N-succinocarboxamide ribonucleotide. [Pg.104]

Because of the imp( tance of the area, many research groups have carried out extensive investigations aimed at developing selective antagonists to these receptors. Based on a number of SAR studies, and more particularly a recent NMR study of the conformation of a cyclic hexapeptide with nM activity toward NK-2 [76], we designed a prototypical model which simulates a P-tum presumed to exist in the cyclic model. Amino acid groups that are homologous in the C-terminal sequence of a number of neurokinins have shown the importance of the tetrad Trp, Phe, Gly, Leu. [Pg.82]
