The anthocyanins found in Cornus officinalis were identical to those isolated by the same authors in Cornus mas fruits delphinidin-3-O-galactoside, cyanidin-3-O-galactoside and pelargonidin-3-O-galactoside but differ in their concentrations. 

Cyanidin-3-O-galactoside was the major anthocyanin pigment identified in Cornus florida fruits [Vareed et al., 2006] which also contain cyanidin-3-O-glucoside in very small amounts. 

Standards. Malvidin 3, S-O-diglucoside was purchased from Aldrich (Saint Louis, MO), Cyanidin-3-O-glucoside, malvidin 3-O-galactoside and syringetin...

T r) seeds [10]. O gives brown, whereas recessive o gives a red-brown phenotype. Preliminary analysis reveals the anthocyanin content of red-brown seed coats to differ from brown by the presence of 3-0-galactosides of cyanidin and delphini-din (Fig. 4.2). An enzyme with minor 3-0-galactosyltransferase activity has been identified [26], but it remains to be determined whether genetic differences in this gene account for red-brown versus brown seed coat color.
