H2 Refuelling station in Barcelona. Electrolysis production of hydrogen, which will be supplied at high pressure to three buses participating in the European CUTE project. It will be the first hydrogen production plant with a solar photovoltaic system, producing 10% of electricity needs. [Pg.170]

Without precautions, freeze/thaw cycles have a negative effect on cell performance, especially when liquid water in the MEA is still present under freezing conditions. Especially interfacial stresses can lead to delamination, while increasing ohmic resistances in membrane and electrode have been reported. The Daimler/ EVO city buses demonstrated in the CUTE project were therefore always parked indoors overnight. In the latest systems, freezing of liquid water is avoided by water... [Pg.280]

With regard to fuel cell brrses, a real-scale experiment was carried out between 2003 and 2006, thanks to support from the Etrropean Union, by the Clean Urban Transport (CUTE) project Thirty Mercedes buses, equipped with Ballard fuel eells, were deployed in 10 Etrropean cities on commercial routes. These buses were all FC buses, with no hybridization and therefore no energy recovery when braking. This choice was debatable for an application on tttban routes, but it is explicable by the fact that the objective was more to demonstrate the viability of the concept in a real eontext than to optimize the buses. [Pg.188]

Sweden is a participant in the EU demonstration project CUTE (Clean Urban Transport for Europe) where 3 Fuel cell buses are run in each of 9 European cities. The hydrogen, which provides fuel for the FC buses, is produced locally by electrolysis. Sweden has recently joined the Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology Platform organised by EU. [Pg.174]

CUTE Biggest demonstration project worldwide of a fleet of fuel cell powered buses. Complemented by project ECTOS in Iceland. [Pg.196]

Further to the previous installations that were run in autonomous or grid-connected mode, a number of hydrogen production, storage and filling installations were realised in the EC project CUTE that operate from the grid running on Green certificates . [Pg.54]

Well, they are super cute about their CDIO. It s something that we had a course about our very first semester, but we don t think about it when we do our projects. It s the way the projects should be structured, but they don t really use it. [Pg.113]
