Creative evaluation team

Brainstorming is an excellent technique for tapping the creative thinking of a team quickly to generate, clarity, and evaluate a sizable list of ideas, problems, issues etc. The team leader stimulates the team to create numerous ideas irrespective of their quality, which are then clarified and evaluated. 

Like any other creative art the art of perfumery depends upon experience and technique as well as upon inspiration. Experience and technique can only be acquired by an immense amount of patient study and hard work, frequently beset by disappointment and frustration. Yet for the talented and enthusiastic student the obstacles are more than offset by the sense of discovery and excitement that surrounds the work. The training will usually involve either working as an apprentice (often as a compounder) to a senior perfumer or formal study in one of the perfumery schools. The apprentice perfumer will probably be required to spend some time gaining firsthand experience in other departments of the company, in related areas such as production, the application of perfumes in different functional products, product evaluation and marketing, analytical techniques, and quality control. There is little room today for the "ivory tower" approach to perfumery a perfumer is seen as part of a team of experts working toward the success of a company. 

At the sharp end, marketing and sales personnel (account managers) relate with the client and help interpret the brief. This is fed into the wider team system for response within an agreed time-scale. A core team for brief response normally consists of people from Marketing, Perfumery (creative and technical) and Evaluation, whilst Research and Development may also be involved and technical advice given by the Product Applications Laboratory. As in all large companies, team working is the key. 

It is a creative brainstorming approach where a group of experienced people pose questions or voice concerns over a process and operational aspects of a system hinging around safety. An experienced review team can discern major issues pertinent to the organization of a process system. It evaluates existing safety issues and comes up with additional control measures.
