Corticotrophin analogues

AIrheumat " ketoprofen. alsactide [inn] (Hoechst 433) is a synthetic peptide, a structural corticotrophin analogue, which has been used as a diagnostic agent for adrenal insufficiency, and clinically for conditions where CORTICOSTEROID treatment is indicated. See also corticotrophin. 

COdactide [ban, inn] (octodecactlde Ba 41795) is a synthetic peptide, a structural CORTICOTROPHIN ANALOGUE, which has been used clinically. Its in vjvo steroidogenic activity is significantly greater than that of native ACTH. See also CORTICOTROPHIN. 

Tetracosactide (tetracosactrin) is an analogue of corticotrophin (ACTH) and is used to test adrenocortical function. It is administered by intramuscular injection. Side-effects are very similar to those with corticosteroids.

Whitten et al. (77) reported the synthesis of a focused triazine library L3 (Fig. 8.13) of >350 members based on the known corticotrophin releasing factor 1 (CRF-1) antagonist, 8.24 (Fig. 8.13), to discover more potent triazine analogues. The two-step synthetic scheme leading to L3 from dichlorotriazines 8.25a,b using two amine monomer sets Mi and M2, is reported in Fig. 8.13.
