Continuous improvement protocols

One could make the task even more difficult by introducing a lag into the joystick correction. This made it much like steering a small boat with a manual rudder, a task tending to produce overshoot. The device automatically computed the score by measuring the area of deviation under a one minute tracing. Practice on this task resulted in continually improving scores, so eventually we eliminated it from the protocol.

Currently, 5 -0-DMT/2 -0-TBDMS [7,8,11,12] is the benchmark for the synthesis of oligoribonucleotides. The suitably protected amidites are commercially available and quality products can be produced on a reasonable scale. However, RNA synthesis chemistry using the 2 -TBDMS group has not yet reached the level achieved by DNA synthesis despite advances in the use of this silyl chemistry in both the synthesis [7-9] and deprotection [7,8,61] steps. As a result, the search for improved protocols or new approaches continues. 

This meetings protocol is succinct because employees apply continuous improvement and have been trained in the use of tools that enable these daily focused improvement meetings. The fifteen-minute meeting s purpose is to discuss output targets, productivity indices, and, most importantly, new uses or applications for the dismantled components at an environmentally and sustainable cost among others. 

Generally, the monoacylation is 3-15 times faster than second acylation and in the batch procedure the diacylated product 54 was obtained as major product (Table 6.5, entries 6, 7, and 13). In contrast, the monoacylated diamine 53 was obtained as major product when the microfluidic droplet and capillary approaches were applied. Here, the droplet-based protocol leads to slightly better yields and selectivities than the capillary procedure (compare entries 3 and 5), which was attributed to the improved mixing efficacy with additional convection effects within the droplets. But the amount of the continuous phase is certainly a major drawback of the droplet protocol. The capillary procedure was therefore improved by the treatment with ultrasound in a commercially available ultrasonic bath (330 W). Sonication of the capillary during the reaction leads to comparable results as in the droplet procedure in a much shorter residence time of 0.5 min (entry 9, overall flow rate 200pl/min, that is, 0.005 mmol/min). Compared to the silent process, the yield was increased by a factor of 4. With an improved ultrasound-supported continuous capillary protocol, a number of symmetric diamines (e.g., piperazine) were successfidly monoacylated. 

Atmospheric plasma cleaning protocols offer real opportunities for in-line continuous improvements in surface cleanliness with a dry cleaning process, and are attaining early adoption within thin film PV foil cleaning operations. Once the solution is implemented, it is often helpful to review the troubleshooting process itself, either in a Lessons Learned review, or as part of a Continuous Improvement program. That review may also involve a reassessment of your vendor-sourcing protocol, not just in whether a given vendor is actually capable, but in the methods that were used to evaluate that vendor in the first place. 

In the Cochrane Reviews database 81 protocols and reviews are available (Cochrane Reviews database). This includes continuing education and quality assurance (16 documents), financial interventions (7), organisational interventions (26), and reviews of interventions to improve specific types of practices (28).
