Kokkini, S., Karousou, R. and Vokou, D. 1994. Pattern of geographic variation of Origanum vulgare trichomes and essential oil content in Greece. Biochem. Syst. Ecol. 22 517-528. [Pg.318]

Re-in-molybdenite contents from Canadian porphyry Cu-Mo deposits range from 13 ppm Re (Whiting Creek) to 590 ppm Re (Schaft Creek). In foreign deposits, Re contents in molybdenites from most porphyry Cu-Mo deposits, excluding anomalous occurrences in northern Greece, are on the order of 200... [Pg.218]

Pentari, D., Foscolos, A.E. and Perdikatsis, V. (2004) Trace element contents in the Domeniko lignite deposit, Elassona Basin, central Greece. International Journal of Coal Geology, 58(4), 261-68. [Pg.537]

The survey teams subsequently identified many large-scale sedimentary zeolite deposits and today these are known to occur worldwide in vast quantities. The occurrences vary from those of high zeolite purity (>90%), such as those located in California, to tuffaceous materials of around 50-60% zeolite content (as in Italy). Commercial mining operations are known in USA, Japan, Cuba, Italy, Hungary, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, Indonesia, Korea, Russia, and South Africa. Workable deposits also exist in Mexico, Greece, and other Balkan states. [Pg.5096]

Kucera et al. [161] performed a comparative analysis of three procedures for determining I in food. Their accuracy and precision were checked against reference materials based on food products. The limit of detection was 1 pg/kg. Instrumental NAA (INAA) and replicate sample INAA (RSINAA) were used in Portugal to test a wide assortment of food products for their total Se content [162], INAA and radiochemical NAA (RNAA) were also used to assess the quality of bottled water sold in Greece [163]. Elements such as U, Ba, La, Sb, Ca, Cr, Zn, K, As, Br, Se and... [Pg.213]

For olive oil, total tocopherol level is ca 100-150 pg/g and a-tocopherol is the dominant (>90%) tocopherol present (Van Niekerk and Burger, 1985 Kamal-Eldin and Andersson, 1997). a-Tocopherol values of virgin olive oils from Greece ranged between 98 and 370 pg/g, while the sum of other vitamers was <50 pg/g. Smallsized Greek olives had slightly higher contents of a-tocopherol than medium-sized olives, at 239 and 198 pg/g, respectively (Psomiadou et al., 2000). [Pg.12]

Amphetamine purity ranges from 6 % in Ireland to 100 % in Greece. By contrast, the composition of pills sold as ecstasy varies considerably. While most contain MDMA or similar substances (MDEA, MDA), they may also include, or consist entirely of, other active ingredients such as amphetamines or caffeine. The physical characteristics of the tablets often do not indicate their composition since the same shape or logo may be used for different contents. [Pg.22]

I asked the lead contributors, who are from four continents (eight are from the United States, plus one each from Canada, Einland, Greece, Thailand, and Australia), to provide short statements about the contents of their chapters and why the chapters are important. Here are their responses ... [Pg.476]

The above-mentioned findings which showed that the Pb content in transplanted lichens was not in direct proportion to the density of traffic, agreed with the data compiled by Sawidis et al. (1995) who applied trees to monitor the heavy metal air pollution in Thessaloniki City (Greece). Two research sites were found to be the most severely contaminated by Pb and Cu. The increased Pb content in the leaves collected in these sites was assumed to be brought about by the density of traffic. Yet, the amount of Pb detected in the site located near the railway station was more than twice the amount detected in the other site whereas the load of traffic was reversed. The number of road junctions, which restrain the rapid progress of vehicles, should be taken into account. The described phenomenon with regard to Pb and to a lesser extent to Cu was interpreted as deriving from other factors than the density of traffic. [Pg.260]
