The development and improvement of scientific-technical level of NDT and TD means for safety issues is connected with the necessity to find additional investments that must be taken into account at the stage of new technogenic objects designing, when solving new arising problems in social, economic, ecological and medical safety. It is not accidental, that the expenses for safe nuclear power plants operation cover 50% of total sum for construction work capital investments. That is why the investments for NDT and TD have to cover 10% of total amount for development and manufacturing of any product. 

In the case of development projects which are on a large scale (e.g. mining or dam construction) or which cover a considerable area, ecological planning attempts to achieve integration between the project and the ecosystem. The object is to ensure not only the continued functioning of the ecosystem as a whole but also of those elements of the ecosystem which provide the development project with goods and services (e.g. fuel, raw materials and the assimilation of waste). 

Without any doubt the microporous polyethylene pocket will meet all requirements of modern starter batteries for the foreseeable future. Whether and to what extent other constructions, such as valve-regulated lead-acid batteries, other battery systems, or even supercapacitors, will find acceptance, depends — besides the technical aspects — on the emphasis which is placed on the ecological or economical factors. 

The LCA methodology has been used by Krahsch and Kreisel to investigate the pros and cons of micro-reaction technology at the stage of process development. The motivation for this study was the question whether ecological improvements can be expected for the chosen model reaction performed in the micro-structured device Cytos produced by CPC Systems GmbH, Germany. Such improvements were the premise for the construction of a continuously operated pilot plant based on Cytos micro-reactors.
