Laminate design computer programs

Computer programs have been developed specifically for the analysis and design of composite laminates and laminated structural elements. A program appropriate for the purpose should be available for designers, owing to the complex mechanical behaviour of composites. 

Numerous programs have been developed for the analysis and design of composite laminates and laminated structural elements (reference 4.15). With some exceptions the programs have been developed for personal computers. Well-known, commonly available programs are briefly reviewed below. Individual programs are not evaluated in detail since many of them are being continuously developed. Suppliers or organizations involved in development are identified as a source for further information.
