Complexes of Phosphorus, Arsenic, and Antimony

The first cyclopentadienyl n complexes of phosphorus, arsenic, and antimony have been characterized only recently. The salt-like species LXXXV-LXXXVII containing a cationic n complex are prepared via halide ion abstraction from pentamethylcyclopentadienyl element halides according to Eq. (47) (248-250).

Carbollyl complexes of group VB elements have been mainly investigated by Todd s group (121). The heterogeneous reaction of the CHB10H30 anion 

Crystalline adducts between antimony trichloride and aromatic hydrocarbons have been known since the nineteenth century (272,273) and have been investigated in detail since the 1970s (274). Since such adducts have been postulated as intermediates in Friedel-Crafts reactions, their structure is of interest.
