Complexes Containing Allyls or Monoalkenes

The electrochemical behaviour of the compounds [ Mo(CO)2(l,10-phen)(dibutylmaleate) (ri -C6o)] n = 1-3) have been studied and compared with that of the analogous Cyo-containing compounds significant differences in their behaviour were noted. Isomerically pure m r-[M(CO)3(dppb)(ri -C6o)] (M = Mo, W) have been prepared and structurally characterised. Depending on the conditions deprotonation of [CpMo(COMe)(CO)2PPh2H)] with DBU followed by reaction with activated alkynes led to either vinylphosphine- or r -acryloyl-containing complexes.
