Competence Assessment for the Hazardous Industries

Within the hnman factors literature, the concept of competencies has received most attention from the point of view of team competencies, particularly within the aviation domain (i.e., flight crew competencies) with regard to the development of flight crew training programs. A brief overview of the hnman factors literature on competencies is presented below. [Pg.11]

In terms of what actually comprises individual operator competencies, the majority of the human factors literature focuses on competencies as comprising the KSAs required for task performance. Moving into the process control domain, Pascual, Mills, and Henderson (2001) proposed the following set of generic, hypothetical control room operator competencies  [Pg.13]
