As mentioned above (section 2.2.1), the intention with open tubular SFC is to act as a substitute for GC. The state of the art is to have the analysis temperature much lower in SFC than in GC thus TG-containing polyunsaturated fatty acids pass through the column without problems. However, the separation performance is not as good as in GC, resulting in the co-elution ofTGs. [Pg.49]

The performance of packed columns should be compared with that of packed column HPLC. As the diffusion coefficients are 20 times greater, depending on the density, higher than in HPLC, SFC should in theory be more rapid and/or efficient than HPLC. The examples given here indicate [Pg.49]
