Visual communication

Communications (visual, voice, signal line, telephone, radio, or other suitable type) must be maintained among all persons present (those in the IDLH atmosphere and the standby person or persons). The respirator wearers are to be equipped with safety harnesses and safety lines to permit their removal from the IDLH atmosphere if they are overcome.

Training Materiais. Like any other written or audio-visual maintenance tool, training materials of all kinds are basically communication devices, and to be effective, should be presented in a simple straightforward, attractive, and professional manner. 

Forty-hour training was required for personnel entering the exclusion zone, and additional supervisory training was required for site supervisors. Site control procedures described in the Site C contractor s SSAHP included maintenance of site control logs at each access point, use of red tape or chainlink fencing to demarcate hot zones, and use of the buddy system in all exclusion and contamination reduction zone areas. Site communications relied almost exclusively on visual sighting of employees the plan did not describe the use of two-way radios. This suggested that all employees in hot zones can be observed continuously from the support zones. 

To involve the staff in a change process, of which the installation or improvement of a ventilation system is one example, is also of vital importance for a successful result. Their knowledge of how the work is or may be done in an effective way, combined with the knowledge of the ventilation expert, increases the chance for an effective and durable solution of an air quality problem. Visualization methods have thereby proved to be effective both to communicate important knowledge and to motivate the staff to take part in the process. ...

At the organism level, there are three issues that must be tackled, besides that of visual representation the first division, breaking of symmetry, and intercellular communication. The simulation forces the first cell to divide by initializing the node (gene) signifying division to 1. This ensures that the organism divides at least once.
