Common Sense and Self Discipline

What is essential for successful project management I interviewed six very experienced project managers (Walesh 1997) and their responses to this question may be summarized as follows Communicate - communicate communicate, create a clear and complete mental image before beginning the work, minimize surprises, and maintain intensity. No silver bullets here—perhaps just common sense to be converted to common practice through self-discipline. 

Why do we never have enough time to do it right. But always have enough time to do it over
