Commercially pure grades

The mechanical properties of titanium are greatly affected by small amounts of oxygen and nitrogen. The properties of the commercially pure grade metal and its alloys are given in the Table 3.35. 

A number of commercial products, their off-specification species and spill residues and debris thereof are listed as materials that when discarded or intended to be discarded, would become hazardous wastes. Two lists of substances are given rmder Sections 261.33(e) and 261.33(f) of the regulation (Tables 4.4 and 4.5). It should be understood that these lists include not only the commercially pure grade of the chemical, but also any technical grades of the chemical that are produced or marketed and all formulations in which the chemical is the sole active ingredient.

In commercially pure grade 2 titanium, the allotropic transformation from a hep a-phase to a bcc P-phase occurs at -915 0. Transitions from a P-Ti bcc pattern at high temperature inside the HAZ, to a a+p-mixed zone, and eventually to the a-Ti hep pattern have been recorded in real time.
