Coating ability and water resistance test

The test method is specified in ASTM D 244 (2009) or AASHTO T 59 (2013) and is similar to the adhesivity test described in the above paragraph. The main differences compared to the adhesivity test (CEN EN 13614 2011) are as follows  

Assessment of the coating of the total aggregate surface area by bitumen emulsion is carried out in both test samples, using the grades good, fair or poor. 

The above procedure is repeated, but on wet aggregates, by adding 9.3 ml of water to the aggregate and calcium carbonate dust mix.
