The cluster anion 486 is formed of a trigonal Gog prism, of which the two C03 triangles are capped by two Co-PPhs units. All Co atoms of the prism are in a planar-trigonal environment formed by three NPh atoms. On the other hand, the capping cobalt atoms are in a tetrahedral environment. This Cos cluster should have a formal charge of -fl7. This is possible if one considers that the cluster is a mixed-valent molecule built with seven Co " " and one Co ions. [Pg.111]
