Closing machine

Complete siftproofness can be had by the tape-over-sewn procedure, whereby the tape is glued onto the finished sewn closure by a device downstream from the sewing head. For siftproofness at high production rates, the pinch-style glued closure is used. The pinch-bag closure has the adhesive preapphed to the open end by the Bagmaker. After the bag has been filled, the closing machine reactivates the adhesive by heat prior to sealing.

Curtain coating With this process, paint falls in a continuous curtain from a closely machined gap in a header tank on to the flat article passing below on a horizontal conveyor the excess paint is collected in the main tank and then passed up to the header tank. It is an ideal method of applying thicker coatings (60/im and above) to sheet metalwork. 

The closure of the twist-off jars is rather labor-intensive. In addition there is also a risk of leakage, even when using the twist-off lid system. Particularly with fatty materials, the jars can become fatty and slippery on their outer surface. The consequence can be that the closing machine cannot fix the jar in one position and the jar start to rotate during closure, resulting in a poorly closed lid, which can start to leak...

For special products (e.g., cytostatics or sterile products), it is necessary to produce tablets in a hermetically closed machine. For these products special containment solutions have been developed which allow the production in a hermetically closed machine or behind a wall. Most important is to separate the tablet production zone strongly from the mechanics of the machine.
