Classification of hazardous and dangerous substances for supply

Schedule 1 of CHIP 2 provides a list of the types of danger from chemicals met in the workplace. To each type of danger is given a symbol letter that can be used on labels and warning signs. [Pg.141]

In addition, each of the symbol letters has an equivalent warning symbol [Pg.141]

There are no symbols for dangers from substances that are carcinogenic, mutagenic or toxic for reproduction. [Pg.142]

Pesticides are not given separate designatory letters or symbols but must be classified as either very toxic, toxic or harmful, as determined by tests outlined in the Regulations. [Pg.142]
