Chromium difluoride dioxide

Caution. Carbonyl fluoride is a water-sensitive and highly poisonous gas. It should be handled in a well-ventilated hood and in a well-constructed vacuum line. Chromium difluoride dioxide is a strong oxidizer. Organic materials must be absent. [Pg.68]

Chromium difluoride dioxide is a violet-red crystalline solid that at 29.6° has a vapor pressure of 760 mm. It melts to an orange-red liquid at 31.6°, and its vapor pressure at the triple point is 885 mm. Although the fluoride is thermally stable,° care should be exercised in its handling because it is water-sensitive and is also a very strong oxidizing agent. [Pg.68]

The pure, crystalline chromium (V) oxide trifluoride can be prepared by the reaction of xenon(II) difluoride and chromium (VT) dioxide difluoride [7788-96-7], also known as chromyl fluoride, Cr02F2 (56) ... [Pg.136]

Chromium(VI) difluoride dioxide CrO,F, 7788-96-7 121.992 red-viol cry 30 subi reac EI O... [Pg.709]

Chromium(V) fluoride has been prepared by the static fluorination of chromium powder by elemental fluorine at 400° and 200 atm and by the high temperature, high-pressure static fluorination of chromium(III) fluoride. The procedure described below involves fluorination of chromium(VI) difluoride dioxide, Cr02p2, by elemental fluorine under rather mild conditions, which is the most convenient method. Chromium(V) fluoride is a useful precursor to a large number of complex salts that contain CrP and Crp7. ... [Pg.124]

Potentially explosive reaction with nitric acid + sulfuric acid, bromine trifluoride, nitrosyl chloride + platinum, nitrosyl perchlorate, chromyl chloride, thiotrithiazyl perchlorate, and (2,4,6-trichloro-l, 3,5-triazine + water). Reacts to form explosive peroxide products with 2-methyl-1,3-butadiene, hydrogen peroxide, and peroxomonosulfuric acid. Ignites on contact with activated carbon, chromium trioxide, dioxygen difluoride + carbon dioxide, and potassium-tert-butoxide. Reacts violendy with bromoform, chloroform + alkalies, bromine, and sulfur dichloride. [Pg.10]
