Acid mist formation is minimized by minimizing H2O vapor pressure. This is done by using high H2SO4, low H2O acid (Fig. 9.4).

Industrial input and output acid compositions are typically input 98.5 mass% H2SO4,1.5 mass% H2O output 98.8 to 99.6 mass% H2SO4, remainder H2O, Table 9.3.
