3-Chloro-2,6-dihydroxybenzoic acid

The fact that the presence of the hydroxy function originating from the salicylic acid is an essential requirement for cestodicidal and flukicidal activity, led Hoechst scientists to prepare a variety of 2,6-dihydroxybenzoic acid anilides. The most effective compound of the series were 4 -chloro/bromo-6-hydroxysalicy-lanilides (5a,b). An example application of the commercial MALDI-MS system is in the paper by Torretta et al. on the qualitative and quantitative profiling of glycosphingoUp-ids [14]. Aluminum-backed HPTLC silica gel plates were developed with chloro-form/methanol/water (110 40 6) mobile phase, dried, placed into a Bruker Daltonics ImagePrep device for matrix (DHB 2.5-dihydroxybenzoic acid) deposition, and then mounted on a Bruker Daltonics MTP TLC adapter (Figure 1.1) for transfer of analyte zones into the mass spectrometer.
