Chitosan forms ultrafine, stable and biocompatible nanoparticles, encapsulating optically active quantum dots having wide biomedical applications. Recent research explored that chitosan can also be utihzed for development of acetylcholinesterase biosensor based on CdTe quantum dots/gold nanoparticles.
