Child, children

Active Child. Children are, almost by definition, active. Sometimes we lose sight of the fact that behavior that we as adults find distracting may be entirely appropriate for a child of 5, 6, or 7 years of age. In these cases parents generally need reassurance that their child is doing well. They may also need a referral for parenting skills training to refine their ability to deal with their active child. [Pg.238]

In children, the causes of this despair and loss of hope are almost always apparent in the first consultation session, providing it involves the family and includes an evaluation of the child s school life. In children, depression almost always revolves around problems at school and in the home, everything from bullying at school and abuse at home to academic school failure, painful peer relationships, and family conflicts over how to raise the child. The treatment of depression in children requires, first, finding out how and why the child became depressed and, second, helping the child, the family, the school, and all the other participants in the child s life restore hope in the child. Children have many needs, including a stable family, rational discipline, unconditional love, stimulating educational environments, physical security, and emotional safety. The object of therapy is to identify the unmet needs and to help adults meet them. [Pg.135]

Because MDCT can deliver a substantial amount of ionizing radiation (Cordoliani et al. 1999), it should rarely be performed as a first line investigation of the urinary tract in a child. Children with multiple injuries are an exception to this rule. Other indications for CT are tumor, urolithiasis, severe or... [Pg.12]

Well, as I was sayin, times was mighty hard in Ireland that year, specially in the little town where me an Mona was bom an reared. That was the state of things in Ireland the year we left it. [Pg.24]

To analyse and evaluate the acoustic emission signals send out from the casting part and the child mold, which means to determine informative characteristic values a conception was realized which contains as well four partial steps (fig. 7, right). [Pg.15]

The reasons for those lowfrequent emission events are flow processes during the child mold filling or friction processes between the casting part and the child mold. Investigations where, using radioscopy, hot tears could be detected show that the time based... [Pg.16]
