Unconditional love

My deepest thanks, of course, goes to my family to my mom and dad, Sara this world to my wife Irene, who has so infinitely enriched my life that I feel as though I ve been blessed with a glimpse of heaven and to my son Noah, who (at the tender age of two) has already taught me that love has no bounds and that mother nature is infinitely wiser than we know. Without my family s unconditional love, support and patience this book truly could not have been completed,... 

Besides a medical degree I also hope to achieve other goals that are important to me. One day I d like to have a piece of land, and buy or build a little house in the wilderness—maybe a straw-bale house—have a deck, or a living room with big windows, where I could locate my bed to be close to the moon at night. I also hope to find a special man to love and marry, and to have a family. I ve spent a lot of time with children, as an aunt and as a nanny, and I enjoy the kind of unconditional love that children can express so easily. 

Mario has also taught me about unconditiorial love. Unconditional love means you love someone not because of what they can do for you, or what they have done for you, but just because you love them.

A lot of philosophic and theological systems talk about unconditional love and acceptance, and I have certainly been at times in these states myself—but they re somewhat unpredictable about how and when you can get in them, and they re somewhat uncontrollable. But on M, for me, the whole context of the experience is one of just total, unconditional love toward other people, toward what I would ordinarily call my "enemies," toward any aspects of my own character that I m not totally satisfied with or whatever. So the nickname for M — "the love drug" — has always been my experience of it.

In children, the causes of this despair and loss of hope are almost always apparent in the first consultation session, providing it involves the family and includes an evaluation of the child s school life. In children, depression almost always revolves around problems at school and in the home, everything from bullying at school and abuse at home to academic school failure, painful peer relationships, and family conflicts over how to raise the child. The treatment of depression in children requires, first, finding out how and why the child became depressed and, second, helping the child, the family, the school, and all the other participants in the child s life restore hope in the child. Children have many needs, including a stable family, rational discipline, unconditional love, stimulating educational environments, physical security, and emotional safety. The object of therapy is to identify the unmet needs and to help adults meet them.
