Chemical Reactions and New Compounds

A series of CS2 complexes of iron(o) [Fe(CO)2( -CS2)L2] [L=P(OMe)3, P(OEt 3, P(OPh)3, or PPha] has been synthesized from (benqrlideneacetone)-tricarbonyliron via reaction with tertiary phosphorus ligands in carbon disulphide. The reactions of some carbonylmetal anions and carbon disulphide 

With water at 200 °C, [Re2(CO)io] or [ReCl(CO)5] give [Re(OH)(CO)3l4-This tetramer has a pseudo-cnhaxiQ structure without rhenium-rhenium bonds but with [Re(CO)3] groups linked by triply bridging OH ligands.  

Transition-metal formyl complexes are possible intermediates in the Fische Tropsch process, and in this context the chemistry of the anions [Fe(C(H)C (CO)3 P(OPh)8)]- and [Re2 C(H)0 (C0)9]- are of interest. .  

The final products of the reactions between [MnX(CO)6] and Et4NX (X= or Br) in boiling chloroform, and between [ReX(CO)5] and Et4NX (X=C1,1 or I) in boiling decalin, are the compounds Et4N[M2Cw-X)3(CO)6]. Ott carbonyl halides for which syntheses were described in 1978 include [HOs3(
