Chemical Modification for cis Nitro Configuration

Then we designed and synthesized a series of neonicotinoids containing cis nitro configuration with the help of virtual screening and the aforementioned bioinformatic analysis as well as quantum chemical calculation. 

Starting from 2-chloro-5-chloromethylpyridine, a set of N -((5-chloropyridin-2-yl)methyl) ethane-l,2-diamine and nitromethylene lb was synthesized following 

3a-n R,=H, R2=H, CH3, C2H5, n-propyl, iso-propyl, C2H5CI, n-butyl, iso-butyl, tert-butyl, n-pentyl, iso-penpyl, benzyl, 2-CI-5-methylpridine, propargyl 4a-c R,=CH3, R2=H, CH3,C2H5 

The preliminary bioassays showed that most of them exhibited moderate insecticidal activity against pea aphids. Compoimd 4a acts on a wide range ofinsect pests via further research, including important species, such as Nilaparvata lugens (LCjqI 

36 pg/mL), Myzuspersicae (LCj, 2.31 pg/mL), Bemisia tabaci (LCj 9.18 pg/mL). Intereshngly, compared to inactivity of imidacloprid, the LCjq value of4a against acarid is 18 pg/mL. On the other hand, the acute oral toxicity of 4a to male rat has 5000 mg/kg by LDjq value.
