Cells X-ray

The crystal structure of these compounds is hexagonal. The detailed structure is known for the compounds Cs3Cr2X9 (X = Cl, Br), which belong to the space group P63/mmc with two dimers per unit cell. X-ray powder patterns indicate that the other compounds are isostructural to the chromium compounds. [Pg.377]

Von Alfthan [22] describes an on-stream x-ray fluorescence system that consists of two flow cells through which the slurry passes. In the classifying flow cell, the slurry flows in a straight path behind a window it then strikes an obstacle that causes slurry mixing as it enters a turbulent flow cell. X-rays excite the slurry in both cells and the resulting fluorescent radiation is a measure of particle size. The system, sold as the Courier 300, measures both x-ray scattering and x-ray fluorescence and is intended primarily as a composition monitor. The measured data can be analyzed to give chemical composition, solids content and maximum particle size. [Pg.527]

The thin layer cell was composed of two quartz plates as the windows and a polymer film as the spacer of 4 pm to 20 pm in thickness. Once molten 1 is introduced into the thin layer cell and cooled to room temperature, the amorphous phase becomes stable enough for practical use. The transparency was maintained for more than one year in the thin layer cell. X-ray diffraction study showed no diffraction peak, and polarized microscopy observation also indicated the amorphous state. [Pg.542]

Basic zeolites were prepared by in situ formation of caesium oxide by calcination of the parent acetate loaded in an increasing amount up to 26 caesium atoms per unit cell. X-ray diffraction and BET studies are consistent with good crystallinity and site accessibility retainings. CO2 TPD results show homogeneous location of the basic species inside the pores with one caesium oxide per supercage. The results are fairly correlated with the initial rates of the Knoevenagel reaction of benzaldehyde and ethylcyanoacetate. These basic solids provide well-adapted selective microporous catalysts for condensation reaction. [Pg.623]

Figure 1 shows a drawing of the analyzer. The essential components are sample flow cell X-ray source X-ray detector and densitometer. Figure 2 shows the sample flow and data ou ut of the analyzer. [Pg.110]

Low-temperature PE PCs are expected to play a crucial role for powering future mobile and stationary applications [18], [19]. Optimized water management is a crucial prerequisite for successful and reliable operation and for long-term stability of the cells. X-ray and neutron imaging techniques have become estabHshed as powerful tools to address different questions of water management. [Pg.500]
