Career opportunities history

Criminal drug charges may harm future employment, career advancement, and educational opportunities. Amendments made to the Higher Education Act in 1998 make anyone convicted of a drug offense ineligible for federal student loans for anywhere from one year to indefinitely. They may also be ineligible for state aid. An individual convicted of a drug offense may also be denied employment based on his or her criminal history. 

We give an overview of the different employment avenues for women chemists in the interwar period and choose exemplars for each. The chapter concludes with examples of women chemists who used the opportunities of the Second World War to develop career directions, though the effect of that war on women chemists seems to have been less momentous than that of the 1914-1918 conflict. The late 1940s seem to be an appropriate place to end the book, for as Evelyn Fox Keller has observed, the mid-20th century represented the nadir of the history of women in science. 11...

Materials on wildlife management, range management, soil conservation, fisheries, forestry, and others are relevant to wildlife conservation includes considerable history, educational requirements, and discussion of schools with good programs. 

Whatever the professional history of those now having expanded responsibilities for environmental affairs and occupational safety, an urgency developed for additional technical knowledge and skills, and for more effective capabilities in people relations and communications. As a matter of career development and job security, safety professionals should consider reaching out to take environmental affairs into their responsibilities. That spells opportunity.
