Figure 13 shows the BOXCARS spectrum of N- with a computer fit to a temperature of 2000°K in a laminar sooting propane diffusion flame (12). Figure 14 shows the vertical temperature profile for this same flame system. It should be pointed out that care must be taken under these conditions to account for the laser interaction with carbon in the flame which can generate laser induced Swan Band emission from C2-... 

AIH3 and alkyl derivatives are powerful Lewis acidic reducing agents that rapidly convert carboxylic esters into primary alcohols. In many cases, the reduction may be stopped at the intermediate aldehyde stage, providing that the stoichiometry and temperature are carefully controlled. However, complete reduction is experimentally easier to carry out. DIBAL-H is the most useful and widely used alane. 

The issue comes down to whether the individual is viewed as a private person or as public property, the former has no obligation to the community to be or stay healthy, the latter does. In proportion as medical care is provided by the state, doctors and patients alike cease to be private persons and forfeit their rights against the opposing interests of the state. Declares Alan I. A careful look at the main "pigments of life" (as Professor Sir Alan Battersby from the University of Cambridge calls them), e.g. heme, chlorophyll, bacterio-chlorophyll, and vitamin Bi2, shows that they have several features in common. They all consist of four pyrrole-type rings, with a greater or lesser degree of unsaturation (depending on the macrocycle), and they have a rather unusual pattern of substituents on their peripheral p-carbons.
