Calorimeter thermogravimetric analysis

A round robin was organized wherein several teams modeled the fire spread before they were provided with the experimental results (a priori simulations) [101]. Participants were given basic information regarding the layout of the apartment and the types of combustibles present, but they were not provided with small-scale test data (i.e., Cone Calorimeter, thermogravimetric analysis, etc.) to characterize any of the combustibles present in the apartment. Most teams used FDS4, and two teams used CFAST. [Pg.575]

Thermal Properties. The glass transition temperature (Tg) and the decomposition temperature (Td) were measured with a DuPont 910 Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC) calibrated with indium. The standard heating rate for all polymers was 10 °C/min. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) was performed on a DuPont 951 Thermogravimetric Analyzer at a heating rate of 20 °C/min. [Pg.157]

Other thermal techniques are Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA) [55,68], High Pressure Calorimeter (HPC) [1], Thermomechanical Analysis (TMA) [1,141], and Differential (or Dynamic) Thermal Analysis (DTA) [74]. These are rarely used and will not be discussed here. [Pg.87]

Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) data were obtained by using a Perkin-Elmer DSC-7 differential scaiming calorimeter and a TGA-7 thermogravimetric analyzer interfaced with a TAC 7 thermal analysis controller and a PE-7700 data station. DSC and TGA samples were heated at a rate of 10 °C/min with purified Nj gas flow of 20 cmVmin. [Pg.26]
