Calming schemes

Mini-roundabouts can generate accidents and should only be used where there have been more than four injury accidents in three years or as part of a traffic calming scheme.

Within this contimiiim approach Calm and Flilliard [48] have studied the universal properties of interfaces. Melatonin 5 is another drug that has application in both animal health and human medicine. In dogs, it is commonly prescribed to calm dogs that are sensitive to loud noises or with separation anxiety (Scheme 9). 

In 2000, Calmes et al. reported the DKR of A -phthalylamino acids using N,N -dicyclohexylcarbodiimide (DCC), 4-dimethylaminopyridine (DMAP) and a chiral alcohol such as (S)-a-methylpantolactone. This method provided an easy access to optically active a-amino acids, as shown in Scheme 1.24.

Road Safety Audits are being carried out on schemes designed by road safety engineers such as traffic calming, safer routes to school and local safety schemes. 

The list in Table 10.2 reflects those items that are difficult to fix within the constraints of the scheme, for example continuity of cycle route, and the Road Safety Auditors perception that more traffic calming may be required. It also reflects those items that the client feels are not safety issues, for example the implementation of antiskid surfaces at an improved set of signals or pedestrian facility where there is no record of existing wet skid accidents.
