Business envy

Thus, in the early days of modem enterprise, engineers were the innovators who developed the methods—the profession—of modem business. As with the scientific inversion, here there is no historical basis for business envy or a nerd inferiority complex. There can be great rewards for an academician in starting a business. For one, you can participate in taking your beloved research into the commercialization phase, for the good of humankind, in a timeframe that is shorter than if you had waited for another to recognize its potential and thereby capitalize upon it. The rewards fimher include fame, fortune, the envy of your peers, the meeting of people you would never normally have met if confined to the world of science, and an education in an area where few scientists ever delve. All these add significantly to life s experiences, so the upside can be profound and it should never be belittled.
