At the Department of Organic Chemistry and Technology, Budapest University of Technology and Economics, we have been dealing with the synthesis and utilization of P-heterocycles for more than two decades. In this chapter, the synthesis and properties of phospholes with bulky substituent on the phosphorus atom are described.

Zoltan Benko (born in 1981) received his M.Sc. degree in chemical engineering (2005) from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. He started his Ph.D. studies in the Department of Inorganic Chemistry at the same university under the supervision of Professor Laszlo Nyulaszi in 2005. The focus of his research interest is computational chemistry.
