Bromazepam analysis

Tlydroxyzine and kava kava are two alternatives. Patients with GAD demonstrated contmned efficacy for 3 months with hydroxyzine or bromazepam (not marketed in the United States), but not with placebo. Efficacy was maintained in 86% of the hydroxyzine group and 88% of the bromazepam group. A meta-analysis of randomized trials comparing the herbal preparation kava kava found it was more effective than placebo for anxiety during trial durations of 1 to 24 weeks. Many patients experienced CNS effects (e.g., tremors, drowsiness, restlessness, and headaches) and abdominal discomfort during short-term treatment. Because of recent reports of hepato-toxicity, kava kava is not recommended as an anxiolytic. ... 

Bromazepam has three pRg values of 2.5, 5.2, and 11.8, corresponding to protonation at the azomethine and pyridine nitrogen atoms and deprotonation at the nitrogen in position 1, respectively. Three. .. values were determined by spectral and polarographic analysis."... 

HPLC/DAD is very important in benzodiazepine analysis. After enzymatic cleavage of the conjugate, the individual metabolites of the benzodiazepines can be clearly distinguished from each other and identified in the chromatogram, so that, for example, the co-consumption of bromazepam when diazepam therapy is in progress can be detected. In sample material of low concentration, for example, the determination of several metabolites of the same starting substance considerably improves the quality of the analytical results. The limit of detection of HPLC is more than adequate in the region of 10-20 ng/ml for routine and confirmatory analysis. 

Analysis of bromazepam in blood and human tissues, including liver, brain, lung, kidney, and muscle, was undertaken by GC MS [47]. Whole blood or tissue homogenates were extracted via a series of LLEs and analyzed directly, using El and SIM. iV-desmethyldiazepam was used as an internal standard, and LODs of about 2 to 5 ng/g were obtained [47].
