Brightness, definitions

Other ions which are reduced in the reductor to a definite lower oxidation state are those of titanium to Ti3+, chromium to Cr2+, molybdenum to Mo3+, niobium to Nb3+, and vanadium to V2 +. Uranium is reduced to a mixture of U3 + and U4+, but by bubbling a stream of air through the solution in the filter flask for a few minutes, the dirty dark-green colour changes to the bright apple-green colour characteristic of pure uranium(I V) salts. Tungsten is reduced, but not to any definite lower oxidation state. 

These essentially colourless compounds have been defined as substances that, when added to an uncoloured or a coloured substrate, increase the reflectance of the substrate in the visible region by converting UV radiation into visible light and so increase the whiteness or brightness of the substrate . The air of uncertainty in the final clause of this definition...

Colwell, Wachi, and Greene41 examined the C2F4-Oa flame. Both diffusion and premixed flames were investigated. Flame temperatures were between 1900 and 2300°K. The products in the effluent gas of premixed flames were C02, CO, and CF4. From the emission at 2400-3200 A, it was found that CF2 was a principal species in the flame. Less definite spectroscopic evidence was also found for CF. The bright blue continuum was probably due to the reaction... 

When I ve had too many stimulants or exposures, it s definitely noticeable in my moods. Not only do I experience physical discomforts, but I often get irritable and that has a negative impact on my mood. Within our relationship we take that into account in order to avoid arguments, and at such times I avoid contact with others. If I don t do so it could incite stress hormones which hamper my recovery. Under the influence of chemical substances I can also be much more emotional, and I have a lot more sadness over the losses I ve suffered than I do when I feel well. Without the influence of these substances I don t have such mood swings and my nature is almost always bright and optimistic. 

There is not yet, however, a definite detection of diffuse gamma-ray emission from galaxy clusters. While there is a preliminary evidence of gamma-ray emission from a dozen bright, radio-active clusters which host powerful radio galaxies and Blazars and are associated to unidentified EGRET sources (Co-lafrancesco 2002), many of the quiet, X-ray selected clusters only have upper limits for their emission at E > 100 MeV.
