Breweries, corrosion resistance

Type 304-19/10 (chromium nickel) provides a stable austenitic structure under all conditions of fabrication. Carbon (0.08% max.) is sufficient to have reasonable corrosion resistance without subsequent corrosion resistance for welded joints. Type 304 is used for food, dairy and brewery equipment, and for chemical plants of moderate corrosive duties. 

S30400 and S31600 are widely used in the brewery and wine industry [12-/5] although stress corrosion resistant alloys are needed at high chloride levels [16]. T3fpical corrosion environments and materials used in the brewery and wine industry are described by Dreyman [17] and Connolly [3].

Plastic flat-top chains are usually made from acetal or low-friction acetal. Acetal chains have reasonably low friction and acceptable corrosion resistance. They are good for conveying aluminum cans in breweries and soft drink plants, and they do not make much noise.
