There are various forms of asbestos and not all are equally hazardous. White asbestos, or chrysotile, is the form most commonly used and is the least harmful, being relatively inert in living systems. The three main types of asbestos that have been commercially produced are Chrysotile, Amosite and Crocidolite, which are commonly referred to as White, Brown and Blue asbestos respectively.
