Block exemption

In the EC Treaty itself, there are both automatic and discretionary exceptions from the prohibition, although both require Commission approval after notification of the aid by the Member State. Under the Treaty, legislation has been adopted to exempt various aids from the prohibition, in the style of the Block Exemptions used to give effect to the exemption in Article 81(3) EC. (See Joined Cases T-447/93 and T-448/93 AITEC v. Commission [1995] ECR 11-1971.)... 

SECTION 1. APPLICANT IDENTIFICATION - Intormalion must be typed or printed in the blocks provided to help reduce data entry errors. A physical address is required in address line 1 a pest office box or corrtinuetiort of address may be entered In address line 2. Fee exempt applicant must list the address of the fee exempt institution. The email address and point of contact are new data items that are in the process of OM6 approval and will soon be mandatory. They are requested in order to facilitate communicalton or as required by inler agency data sharing requii emenis. Applicant must enter a valid tax identificaiion number (TIN). 

While a permit or license—figuratively speaking—lifts a barrier blocking a thoroughfare, the dispensation or exemption from a ban just gives a person the right to climb over a fence. 

When two or more tanks are interconnected, a second means of egress is needed if a chemical leak or fire could block the main egress. Tanks in water or other service which present no potential hazard exposure are exempt from this requirement.
