Biogas characteristics

The planned and measured operation characteristics, as well as the main test results at the biogas plant of the agricultural co-operative II. Rakoczi Ferenc at Szecseny are the following (Table 1., Fig. 2.)... [Pg.363]

Another example regards an aspect discussed before on the sustainability of land use for biofuels. We have already remarked the various problems in this analysis that can be summarized, in a simplified form, in reply to the question which use is the most sustainable for one ha of land. There are different possible options to produce (i) bioliquids (by fast pyrolysis), bioethanol or biodiesel, (ii) food, (iii) chemicals, (iv) electricity or (v) to feed animals. There are more options (e.g., biogas) but the present already allow a good comparison, although theoretical (land productivity depends on several factors and, for example, palms to produce the vegetable oil raw material for biodiesel is not locally in competition with the production of bioethanol from biomasses for which different climate and land characteristics are required). [Pg.292]

A simple, biogas-fed, hybrid MCFC power-generation system has been developed. The characteristics of gas from biomass gasification may vary significantly. Energy, measured in terms of HHV, and the composition of gas depend on biomass gasification technology. [Pg.201]

The example of the Biogas Tower Reactor shows how to develop a model of complex biochtechnological processes by decomposition into coupled subsystems. Most of these processes are very complex, so that one has to find out the relevant characteristics and bottle necks of the reactions that determine the dynamic of the process. [Pg.181]

Biogas is a product that is a part of the majority of biorefinery concepts. This is because of the favorable characteristics of anaerobic digestion, particularly the high energy yield from organic substances, the low cost technology of biogas production, the low demand for substrate composition and quality, and the wide application spectrum. [Pg.271]

Biogas contains several substances (Table 6.1) that have negative impact on the process converting the biogas into energy. So the biogas should be converted into biomethane stream having proper characteristics. [Pg.137]
