Biocatalysis industrial uses

These perspectives allow us to conclude that the constant rise of importance of biocatalysis in industrial processes is secured for years to come, and is limited only by further recognition from industrial society. [Pg.116]

The methods developed by us for preparation of these dendrimer-based reagents are quite general and have the potential of application to a large variety of molecules that have utility in diagnostics, therapeutics, biocatalysis, enzymol-ogy and food processing industry. [Pg.482]

Nearly eight years have passed since we the First Edition of Enzyme Catalysis in Organic Synthesis" was issued but much of what we had written in its preface then still applies today. The application of biocatalysis in organic synthesis is a powerful technique. It has grown steadily and today this field is well-established in both academia and industry. With increasing application and acceptance the need for a comprehensive and up to date overview of the state of the art has grown. In addition numerous colleagues have approached us and asked for an update of the Handbook . [Pg.1574]

It is evident that such lipase biocatalysis is very ready for industrial use, and indeed, the example above is just one of numerous examples carried out by us as well as by others. With regard to the production of fine chemicals more generally by biotransformations, an analysis has been reported of 134 such industrial processes. This reveals that on average there is a volumetric productivity of 15.5 g/L per hour and a final average product concentration of 108 g/L, figures very suitable for high economy. [Pg.125]
