Carry out this preparation in precisely the same way as the above preparation of oxamide, using 2 ml. (2-4 g.) of benzoyl chloride instead of the ethyl oxalate, and observing the same precautions. Considerably more heat is generated in this reaction therefore hold the cork very securely in position during the shaking. After vigorous shaking for 15 minutes, no trace of oily benzoyl chloride remains. Filter off the fine flakes of benzamide, wash with cold water, and then recrystallise from hot water yield, 1-5 g. Colourless crystals, m.p. 130°. [Pg.119]

Makino et al. described a pathway to quinazolinones utilizing a resin-bound amine, treatment of which with 2-methoxycarbonyl phenylisothiocyanate formed resin 147, which subsequently cydized in the presence of TFA to form the quina-zohnone core structure 151 [190]. Quinazoline alkaloids have been synthesized by cychzation of amidine intermediate 148 [191]. A two-step reaction on a sohd support involving cyclocondensation of ethyl oxalate 149 with benzamide and subsequent cleavage employing trimethylsilyl iodide also provided a quinazohne [192]. [Pg.429]

Four crystal structures have been obtained to date and they include co-crystals of 4-[(p5Tazol-l-yl)methyl]-benzamide with oxalic acid (Fig. 5), succinic acid, benzoic acid (Fig. 6), and 2-fluorobenzoic acid, respectively. In aU four cases, the... [Pg.139]
