Bending: plastics 244 sheet metal

Before finalizing the design, one may wish to construct a prototype or model from stiff card stock, plastic, or thin aluminum sheet metal. One such model is shown in Fig. 15.B.5. This model was constructed from 0.2 mm thick card stock using the technique and dimensions reported above. Such a model will assist us in evaluating the final fit-up. It may tell us, for example, if there are any distortions due to bending of the leading curved section of the vanes. [Pg.380]
