Belgium staff

The meeting brought, together a total of 12 researchers, consultants, and company staff from the Netherlands, U.K., Belgium, Switzerland and Canada. All the participants shared a common interest in near miss and accident reporting. A full list, of participants is provided in appendix 3.

ELECTRABEL, which is the private Belgian electrical utility company, is the major electrical operator in the Belgium unit. It operates 7 nuclear plants with a total capacity of 5500 MW, which represents 56% of the total electricity demand in Belgium. The group s key advantages are its human potential and its technical knowhow. It has a staff of roughly 37,000.

The IAEA staff members responsible for the publication were D. Litai and J. Bastos of the Division of Nuclear Installation Safety. 

Joseph Riga Is currently a senior staff member at Namur working mainly on molecular solids and polymers using XPS. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from the Facultes Universitaires Notre Dame de la Palx, Namur, Belgium with a thesis on the electronic structure of organic disulfides.
