Methylation, base

Monte-Carlo simulation method was used to investigate the interaction of the [CDdosed-MePy] complexes with Pt (111) surface. The result shown in Figure 5 indicates that the shielded complex can maintain its entity even after adsorption. Further computer modeling indicated that there are other molecules with the ability to induce SE. In this respect Troger s bases are of particular interest. The calculated Troger s base-methyl pyruvate complex (R form) is shown in Figure 6. [Pg.244]

Fig. 8 Long range charge transport between dppz complexes of Ru(III) and an artificial base, methyl indole, in DNA. The methyl indole is paired opposite cytosine and separated from the intercalating oxidant by distances up to 37 A. In all assemblies, the rate constant for methyl indole formation was found to be coincident with the diffusion-controlled generation of Ru(III) (> 107 s )> indicating that charge transport is not rate limiting over this distance regime... The V-A15 structure was first suggested for BgHg LB to account for the apex-to-base methyl migration of l-CHgBgHg in the presence of a Lewis base (i.e., two sets of borons become equivalent in a V-A15 intermediate), but the Lewis base equivalents of IV-A15 or III-A15... [Pg.120]

The structures of hepatitis A viral 3C proteinases complexed with tetrapeptidyl-based methyl ketone inhibitors were shown to have an episulfide cation embedded in them. The authors concluded that the mechanism of inactivation of 3G peptidases by methyl ketone inhibitors is different than those operating in serine proteinases or in papain-like cysteine peptidases <2006MI673>. [Pg.380]

If it is only to correct and not create errors, the mismatch repair system must be capable of distinguishing the correct base in the parental strand from the incorrect base in the daughter strand. Rare methylated bases (methyl-A and methyl-C) provide the basis for this distinction. In E. coli. [Pg.556]

The process takes place in two steps. In the first, butadiene reacts with carbon monoxide and methanol at 120°C, and 60. IK Pa absolute. The catalyst employed is dicobalt octacarbonyL Co2iCOl8, in the presence of a heterocyclic nitrogenous base. Methyl 3-penteneoate is formed with a molar selectivity of 98 per cent ... [Pg.243]

The orientation of reaction of aminopyridazines with electrophiles, and further reaction of the intermediates is illustrated by a study with 4-amino-5-aroylpyridazines. Acylation and sulfonylation occurs on the amino nitrogen, while alkylation occurs, as expected, at N-1 the acylamino derivatives are relatively unstable, but the toluenesulfonamide is quite stable to acid and to base. Methylation of the toluenesulfonamide gives a mixture of ring and amino alkylated products with the latter predominating. Hydrolysis of the ring A-alkylated compounds gives 4(l//)-pyridazinones (Scheme 57). Selective amino-alkylation of the 4-amino-5-aroylpyridazines is achieved via the imidate by reduction and subsequent oxidation of the alcohol <85H(23)265l>. [Pg.45]
